Round Top, Backyard and New Equipment

New Backyard

Ug, I hate that I haven't blogged in so long. It just seems harder, the longer I wait.

I had a great weekend. The grass got installed Friday and it is so beautiful. After a fun day at Round Top on Saturday with Lisa I came home and the guys were gone for the evening so I just had a glass of wine and sat on the back porch for a long time thinking. It was wonderful! Now that it will be less dusty out there, I look forward to more lovely outdoor time.

I have had some good stuff with my business recently. I sunk the money from the two wholesale orders into a bunch of equipment I have been wanting. I got a drill and a wax pen and a bunch of other small tools to help me make silver jewelry. So fun! I am casting a bunch of stuff in class but I don't want to show any of it just yet. I feel I am getting close to an idea for a line. But boy do I have a lot to learn! Lately I am trying to wrap my mind around how to make rings. I get so confused when I look at the metals catalog I start getting all these new ideas and getting off track. Not to mention how many different choices there are for wire and silver sheet. I just have to have patience with myself to learn and to get advice from my prof. On Monday I started making molds of some of my designs. I love that I can make something in metal and totally reproduce it.

Round Top was such a great time. I went by myself on Thursday for jewelry purposes. I still want to make stuff with vintage pieces! I had fun walking around by myself and I enjoyed the drive out too. Texas has such beautiful scenery. It is just so amazing. Saturday I went out with Lisa which was so awesome. Lisa is such a cool person - so positive and smart. I really enjoyed my day with her. We had great discussions on the drive - christianity and politics and family stuff. She had my brain going! Most of what I bought was jewelry again but I did get a goofy 70's tree decoration with animals and flowers in it. I think someone had one on their wall when I was a kid because I have very fond feelings about it.

What I bought for myself at Round Top

Have a long list of stuff to do this week. Getting some emery boards printed for my Stitch swag bag giveaway. They're going to be so cool! My list is funny because it is such a mish mash of stuff to do around the house, in class and for my business. I am probably the only person in the world with "laundry" right under "writing a press release" followed by "figure out how to make rings." I wonder what goofy things other people have on their list. (hint hint: comment and tell me).

There are more pictures of the backyard on my flickr account.

Sunday I went out and bought a skirt and pair of pants. It is so cool to shop in the normal shops now and not be restricted to the "Womens" section or the big lady store! Hooray! I got a cute new blue jean skirt and some brown velvet pants on sale.
